Eric Shrive To Attend RU Spring Game

Five star offensive lineman Eric Shrive out of West Scranton High School plans on making a visit to Piscataway, N.J. with one of his friends who's just as highly recruited as he is.

Shrive will be in attendance when Rutgers closes out the 2008 spring with their spring game on April 19. He will be accompanied by four-star quarterback Tom Savage out of Cardinal O'Hara High School in Pennsylvania. They met during the recruiting process and have been friends since.

"I will be going with Tom and we'll be staying at Rutgers [for the trip]," Shrive said.

Last weekend, Scout.com's No. 3 rated offensive lineman in the 2009 class paid the 2007 Big 10 Champion Ohio State Buckeyes a visit. Shrive got a chance to talk to Head Coach Jim Tressel and the rest of the staff and said it was just like other trips he's been on.

"It was a great trip," Shrive said. "I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches and it was just your typical trip."

Minnesota is the latest school to send an offer Shrive's way and while he doesn't have much knowledge of the school yet, he does have a connection with the Golden Gophers.

"I don't know much about them yet so I'm going to have to do some research on them," Shrive said. "But, one of the coaches played football at my high school."

If there were other schools that were showing a lot of interest and would likely offer soon, Shrive said he wasn't sure at the moment.

Syracuse was a college that there was a possibility of Shrive visiting, but he said there's nothing planned as of now.

The Scranton, Pa. native said he doesn't have a top five list of schools yet and he plans on making his final decision after he finishes his senior season of football.
