Oliver visits Tennessee, is a decision soon?

Nyshier Oliver has been making his visits to colleges with a goal of coming to a decision sooner than later. This past weekend, Oliver visited the campus of Tennessee. How did the visit to the SEC powerhouse go? Is Oliver closer to a decision?

A year ago, Nyshier Oliver's abilities were the worst kept secret in New Jersey. A year and close to 20 scholar offers later, Oliver is among the highest recruited players in New Jersey. This past weekend Oliver took an intimate 8 hour drive to the campus of SEC power Tennessee with his father.

On the drive down, Oliver and his father discussed what he is looking for in a school. As he stated "I just want to get the decision over with. The recruiting process is not for me. I want to get it out the way". In an effort to make a decision, Oliver and his father have been making trips like this one.

The visit was very "upfront and personal" with only head coach Phil Fulmer, the DB Coach and Oliver's father. The four discussed how Oliver would fit into the program, his possible fortunes by being a Volunteer and various other matters. One of the big highlights of his visit was visit the Volunteer Stadium and holding the National Championship Trophy. As Oliver stated, "the visit blew me away".

Although the visit blew Oliver away, he did not commit to the Tennessee program but decided to take sometime to discuss the matter with his family and head coach. The decision appears to be between staying home and playing for Rutgers against playing for one of his childhood favorite teams. All of the parties will not have to waiting long for a decision because Oliver intends on making his decision known in the next two weeks.
