Albert Young (RB, 5'10-190lbs) from Moorestown High School has been one of the most productive running backs in New Jersey history. Last weekend, he set the Burlington County record for rushing and has his sights on the South Jersey record. He is only 598 yards away from the South Jersey record with two more games remaining and a possible third, if they advance deeper in the playoffs. The record is not out of his reach, especially for a RB that regularly runs for over 125 yards per game.
Young has setup three of his five visits. They are:
- Wisconsin 12/6/2002
- Rutgers 12/13/2002
- Virginia 1/17/2002
Depending on how far his team advances in the playoffs, he may move his visits back a week.
He is still working out the details for his visits to Boston College and Iowa. There is a possibility that he will visit Iowa instead of Virginia.
Currently, he states that his leaders are Wisconsin and Boston College followed by Rutgers and Iowa.
How does he feel about his top four schools?
- first school to offer
- good tradition of RBs, especially from New Jersey
- one of the first schools to offer him
- they need RBs with the current ones being juniors
- recruiting him hard and treats him well
- really likes the coaching staff
- a late entry, there on-field success coupled with their tough recruiting has launch them into the mix.
Has the Rutgers losses affected their chances of obtaining his services?
He stated that Rutgers on-field losses have not affected his feeling about the school. He understands that they are playing with a number of young players and that true success can not be judged by there wins and losses. The wins will come in time. The fact that they are recruiting him hard really helps their chances.
What is he looking for in a school?
He is looking for a school that fits him. Academic support and early playing time will play a big factor in his decision. Distance and climate does not bother him and will not play a factor.
