Where does RU Stand with Eric Shrive?

Five star offensive lineman prospect Eric Shrive from Scranton, Pa. took a trip up to Piscataway with the Scarlet Knight's most recent recruit, Tom Savage. There, they got a chance to watch Rutgers' spring game.

Shrive picked up Savage on the way to the Garden State, where they stayed in the same hotel for the duration of the trip.

At the game, he didn't get to watch much of it because he was busy talking to Head Coach Greg Schiano and other members of the staff such as Assistant/ Offensive Line Coach Kyle Flood and Offensive Coordinator/ Quarterbacks Coach John McNulty.

"I didn't get to watch much because I was with Coach Schiano for a large portion of the game," Shrive said. "We talked about recruiting and how the team would do this year. I also met some of the fans and a lot of recruits."

After the game, the 6-foot-7 280 pound lineman got a chance, along with the other recruits, to hang out with the current Scarlet Knights at night.

That was possibly the last stop on Shrive's recruiting tour until the summer rolls around because he is focused on his West Scranton High School team right now and wants to let the recruiting process come to him.

"My main focus is always going to be on my [high school] team," he said. "I just want to get better for next year and let the recruiting process take its tolls.

"In the summer I will concentrate more on the process."

While that may be the case, he has recently received an offer from Maryland.

"They are a good program and I'm doing my research on them," Shrive said.

Shrive reports a 3.0 core GPA and benches 350-pounds and squats 450.
