Video Interview: Tom Savage

The Big Man Academy, held on a nationally celebrated holiday (Flag Day) on a hot and sunny summer day on the campus of Rutgers University marked the arrival of some of the region's top OLs and DLs. However, some additional familiar faces also made the trek to Piscataway, NJ. Among them was RU QB pledge, 4-star prospect Tom Savage.

Though he won't be lining up on the offensive or defensive side of the ball any time soon, Rutgers' Commitment Tom Savage did make the trek to Piscataway, NJ, on Saturday afternoon to check out some of the beefy competition participating in the Big Man Academy. One of the primary reasons for Savage's trip to his future college was to give one of his teammate's, rising Junior [OL] Matt Williams, who plays the Center spot for the Hawks, an opportunity to see the Rutgers campus for himself. Williams, though only a Junior, was one of the younger participants in the Big Man Academy.

SOR had the opportunity to talk with Savage about his teammate's performance, some of the competition on the field, and the prospects for the upcoming Rutgers Fooball season.

"They're only going to progress," stated Savage, in reference to the Scarlet Knight's upcoming campaign. "With the high-powered offense that they have this year with Teel, and the two great receivers, and the running backs, and excellent offensive line, I think they're just going to [continue to] move forward."
