Video Interview: Abdul Smith

Abdul Smith, by way of Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, PA, is one of the top athletes on the east coast. Smith's versatility is one of his more impressive traits - indeed, it was his ability to showcase his skills as a CB that earned him a Rutgers offer. SOR had the opportunity to catch up with Abdul and his father, Mr. Smith, after the conclusion of their single day at the RU camp.

Abdul Smith holds over 20 scholarship offers in hand, including one from his home-state school, Rutgers. The standout Garden State athlete, with the ability to play either Safety position or the corner spot, is being recruited primarily as a CB. Smith brought his skills to the Rutgers Football Camp for one day, this past Monday, and demonstrated why more than 20 schools, Rutgers included, are wooing him for his signature.

"The level of competition was pretty good. There were a lot of good, local kids, and kids out of the state, as far as from Florida, from Pahokee [HS]. So, the competition was pretty good. I though I did pretty well, especially in coverage," stated Smith in reference to his experience at the RU camp.
