What's Next for Hodges?

The Scarlet Knights got off to the best start to recruiting in Rutgers history with 19 commitments before August 1st. The class has every opportunity to be among the nation's top 15 classes. Among the gems of the class is Gerald Hodges, who is a gifted football player with the ability to star at a number of positions. SOR had the chance to discuss his plans for the rest of the summer.

Before making his verbal commitment to Rutgers in late June, Gerald Hodges was among the most recruited players in New Jersey. His 6'3"-210lbs coupled with his 4.5 speed provides him with the ability to play multiple positions but he would prefer to play safety and return punts on special teams.

Hodges decided to play at Rutgers because "they recruited me perfectly and I felt it was the right place for me. The coaches made me feel good." The opportunity to play with some of the best players in South Jersey such as Aaron Hayward and Shawney Kersey "makes me feel at home". He stays in frequent contact with many of the recruits particularly Shawney Kersey, Aaron Hayward and Mark Brazinski.

However, Hodges might look to take some visit to other schools to "see what is out there and what the other schools have to offer. Before making his commitment to Rutgers, Hodges visited the campuses of Maryland and Penn State. So he has seen other campuses before making his decision. So it is unclear whether or not he will take another visit. He will be deciding the matter with his father before making any decisions.

In the meanwhile, he will be continuing to run, lift and work hard on further developing his defensive back skills. SOR will be there to provide you with all of the details on all of the prospects in the State of Rutgers.
