Rutgers defeats Temple 59 - 53

For the second game running Rutgers built up a big lead over a quality opponent on the road. For the second time in a row, the Knights faltered at the end ... this time however RU held on for the "W".

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Jerome Coleman scored 28 points and made two free throws with 15.9 seconds remaining to clinch Rutgers' 59-53 win over Temple on Sunday afternoon.

For the second game in a row, Rutgers (2-1) had a double-digit lead on the road in the second half. Four days ago, against North Carolina, that lead turned into a 71-67 loss. This time, the Scarlet Knights led by as many as 18 in the second half but needed Coleman's free throws as the Owls (0-1) pulled to within four in the final minute.
