Joe is still only 17 years old, and he is still growing. He is up to 6'2 ½" and 225 lbs. His bench press has improved to 375 lbs., and his 40 time is down to 4.6 seconds. He is a three-year starter for Manasquan High, and they are one game away from their fifth straight state sectional title.
With two games remaining this season, Joe has over 110 tackles, 3 interceptions, 6 knockdowns, 3.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries at LB. At TE, he has 7 catches for 120 yards, but, more importantly, his outstanding blocking has been one of the keys to Manasquan's potent ground attack. Note that a few schools (including Rutgers) are also considering him as a fullback.
Joe is a warrior. He is hard-nosed and relentless on the field, and he will put in whatever effort it takes both on and off the field to be successful.
Joe was recently scheduled for an official with Illinois and an offer is expected shortly.
