2010 PA OL garners first two offers

Seth Betancourt will be one of the more hotly pursued OL on the east coast for the class of 2010. The 6'7 285 lb OT has already landed two BCS offers and will sure have many more to come. Today he discusses with SOR his early recruitment and how Rutgers fits in the picture.

Seth Betancourt (6'7 285) is a mammoth OL for St Joseph's Prep in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He currently is playing RT, opposite of LT and current Penn State commitment Mark Arcidiacono. "We have a good team and are at 2-1 this season. We beat Parkland and St Anthony's (Long Island), but lost at North Penn last week.…I am playing right tackle. Next year, when Mark goes to Penn State, it is up to coach whether I stay at RT or make the move over to LT".

Over the last month, he has received offers from Rutgers and Duke. "Rutgers was my first offer and Duke just came in last week. Those were two great offers…I have also been to Penn State and just got back from a trip to Notre Dame. Penn State was a beautiful campus and I really liked how it was out in the mountains. Overall, both schools were awesome trips. It is an honor to get recruited by these schools. They are all big time schools".

When asked about his thoughts on Rutgers, he shared that "Rutgers, like many other schools have come by the school and checked us out . I am being recruited by Joe Susan. He is a great coach. I am going to try to get up there for a game, but since most of our games are on Saturdays, we may have some conflicts to get up there for a game. But they are certainly a school I would like to visit as soon as possible".

Betancourt is not leaning towards any school in the early going. "Rutgers, Penn State and Notre Dame are all places I really love. I want to go out and learn about as many schools that are interested in me as possible. I am open to anyone who wants me as a football player".

Betancourt and his St Joseph's Prep team will play live on ESPN-U on October 17 against the Tom Savage led Cardinal O'Hara team. It will give recruiting fans an opportunity to seem some of the top up-and-coming talent in the coming years.
