Rutgers struggled offensively and squandered a seven-point halftime lead when it lost to Virginia, 68-64, last night in Charlottesville, Va.  Sophomore guard Cappie Pondexter scored 19 points to lead four players in double figures for the Scarlet Knights, who took a 35-28 halftime lead but made just eight of 26 shots (30.8 percent) in the second half.

A solid first half wasn't enough for the Rutgers women's basketball team Friday night against Virginia. The Scarlet Knights led 35-28 at halftime but fell apart in the second half, blowing a 12-point lead and falling to the Cavaliers 68-64 at University Hall.

High School Football - Scrambling for fields to play on

There will be no state championship football games at Rutgers or Kean this season. Officials of both colleges told the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association yesterday that their fields cannot be used for the eight games that were scheduled to be played at the two sites because of Thursday's snowstorm.
