Antwan Lowery Has Great Trip to Rutgers

Antwan Lowery, one of the top lineman prospects in the nation, took his visit to Rutgers this past weekend. He shares with us some of his thoughts on the trip, Rutgers in general, and the recruiting process.

Antwan Lowery is a major piece of the puzzle and a big target for Rutgers. The 6'4 330 pound prospect can become a great run stuffer at the next level. And this weekend, RU showed just how important Lowery is at that key position for the Scarlet Knights.

"I loved my trip. It was excellent. I got to meet the recruits and they were a great group of guys. The coaches are great people. I have a strong relationship with Coach Hewitt and Coach Schiano. I got to spend some time with my brother. It feels like one big family in general up there. I felt very comfortable".

The visit did make a bigger impression on Lowery. "I have always liked it up there, but to spend this kind of weekend with the players and coaches, it just made me feel more comfortable and a part of the group. I have been to NYC before, but this trip to the ESPN Zone was great. It was a lot of fun".

Lowery was hosted by his brother, LB Antonio Lowery. "He showed me a great time. He always looks out for me. But he also placed no pressure on me. He told me to take my time and when I feel ready, to make my decision then".

Lowery got to spend some time with Coach Schiano during his visit. "We spoke a big throughout the trip and then we had a meeting at the end. We did not talk about football at all, but just about life in general. He talked about growing up and becoming a man. I think it was pretty tremendous".

Lowery still wants to take other visits. He is looking to definitely take one to Florida. His other three visits will likely go to Miami, Tennessee, and Alabama. "I have been in contact with all those schools. I may make my decision in January (at an All-Star game) or wait till February".
