Jackson Talks About Jr. Day at Rutgers

SOR caught up with Newark, Delaware Jr. Jamaal Jackson after his recent visit to Piscataway for Junior Day at Rutgers. "It was a nice experience," said the 5'9, 160lb. RB from Paul M. Hodgson Vocational Tech, alma mater of recent RU commits Jamil and Jamal Merrill.

"The coaches were real down to earth. They showed us the dorms, really showed us all over, and made us really feel at home." He also looked at the artist's renderings of the new addition to Rutgers Stadium which were impressive.

Jamaal presently has offers from Rutgers and Boston College but has been in contact with other schools lately. "I've gotten some mail from North Carolina and Tennessee, but no offers yet." He has no plans for an early commitment anywhere, but will wait to see who expresses an interest in him and then start the decision making process. "If I had to give you a time for making a choice it would probably be at the Army All American game," said the First State speedster, who has clocked a 4.4 40 yard dash.

Not surprisingly, Jamaal has no favorites at this point and is keeping his options open. What's he looking for in a school? "In addition to academics, I'd say team togetherness. I like teams that play as a team not as a bunch of individuals." He's also partial to teams that can put his ball carrying skills to use, and soon. "I'm looking for teams that like to run the ball, or have a balanced offense. The opportunity to play as a freshman is also important to me."

We'll definitely be hearing more from Jamaal in the future.
