Sibilia Likes What Rutgers has to Offer

Antonio Sibilia is a rising junior who is attracting a lot of attention from a number of major college football programs. Recently, he visited Rutgers for their Junior Day. SOR had an opportunity to discuss his feelings about the visit and the status of his recruitment. Take a look at what he had to say about his trip to the Banks.

Amazing. That's how Nutley's 6'0", 210 lb. LB/RB Antonio Sibilia described Rutger's Junior Day. "We saw the bubble, the weight room, the locker rooms . . . their facilities are beautiful!" Antonio had high praise for the coaches as well. "I spent most of my time with Coach McNulty and Coach Foster who have visited me at school. They were amazing."

He also got to hang out with some of the other juniors like Paramus' 6-6, 305 lb guard, Danny Foose and Doug Rigg, a fellow linebacker from nearby Bergen Catholic. The only part that wasn't great was the cold weather. "But I'm a North Jersey kid, that doesn't bother me," said Sibilia.

Antonio's interested right now in Rutgers, Maryland, Syracuse, Kentucky, Virginia, Duke, and Cincinnati who have all been corresponding. "Rutgers, Maryland, and Syracuse are my favorites. They've been showing a lot of interest in me. Rutgers would be my first choice right now. But I'm scheduled to go to Syracuse's Junior Day, and have camp invitations from Rutgers, Maryland, and Boston College so who knows."

He's waiting for that first offer so he has no time period set for making a decision yet. What's he looking for in a college? "Academics are real important to me. I know I'll get a good degree from Rutgers and that's another reason I like them."

Goals for this year? "I'd like to get over 100 tackles this year. I've been really close the last two years. I also want to gain 1,000 yards rushing." Nutley made the playoffs last year, so Antonio wants to help lead them back and get further, maybe even a championship. His last comment on Rutgers? "It was an honor to be invited. I really enjoyed it."
