Osei ready for Rutgers

David Osei committed to Rutgers earlier in the year, right after the de-commitment of mark Brazinski. The RU staff thought highly enough of Osei to make the quick offer and Osei's opinion of the program was just as strong. He knew where he wanted to play and made an expedient commitment. Today he talks about his official visit to the banks.

David Osei showed up to the Rutgers Lineman Camp earlier in the year in the 220 range. There he showed great feet, balance and strength, yet was considered undersized. But as time progressed he grew into his body.

"I have just gotten bigger and thicker. Right now I am at 6'4, and weighed in at wrestling earlier today at 256 pounds. As opposed to the past, I have been able to keep on my weight this year. Coach Flood thinks I'll play in the 285 range".

Osei talked a little about his relationship with the coaching staff at Rutgers. "They are great people and very knowledgeable. I think we have a strong core of guys coming up. It should be a fun few years".

On his visit, he had a chance to talk about his expectations for the future. "I got to speak with Coach Flood for a while. He wants me to learn the center position and also the other inside positions on the O-Line. I am going to go up for a few practices this spring and try to get a head start with my preparation for when I finally arrive at Rutgers".

This year, Osei's team had a great run going deep in to the playoffs.

And in wrestling, he has been very successful during this senior campaign. "I am 28-0 as a heavyweight this year. I am just going out and competing really hard every match...States are coming up soon and I expect to get a 1 or 2 seed".

The Rutgers staff has had success in finding gems in the past and Osei looks like he may be another good all-around athlete for the Scarlet Knights.
