Bush Rates The Rutgers visit a "10"

The Scarlet Knights have been searching to find another tight end to pair with Paul Carrezola. As National Letter of Intent day draws near, the name that has resurfaced is Malcolm Bush. This past weekend Bush took his official visit to the Rutgers campus and left impressed. Could Rutgers' search have ended?

During the summer, Malcolm Bush gave Rutgers a pledge to become a Scarlet Knight. However, Bush later found that he committed too early and informed the Rutgers coaching staff that he would like to reopen his recruitment. The 6'4"-220lbs Hackensack product's list of suitors swelled to include Connecticut, Syracuse, North Carolina and Pittsburgh. However, the Scarlet Knights were apparently not out of the picture.

This past weekend Bush visited the Rutgers campus and came away so impressed that he rated the visit a 10. "It was nice and I had a lot of fun. From the scale of one to ten, I would give it a 10. Coach Schiano is a straight guy. We had a great relationship when I first committed and it had not changed. I also like the camaraderie of the players. All of the players really get along with each other." The strides in academics was an important point for him . "The academics are great. They are #3 in the API for football".

Bush was hosted by Rutgers starting tight end Shamar Graves. "Me and Shamar got along well. He is a fun guy". Bush had the chance to experience the on campus life and also went off campus for the traditional trip to the ESPNZone. "We had a lot of fun at the ESPNZone. We got a chance to chill and play games".

The visit might not have vaulted the Scarlet Knights to the top of his list but they are certainly in the mix for his services.

Regarding a college destination, "the decision will come down to a gut decision. Whatever school that I feel the most comfort with that is where I will committ".

From his list of suitors, Bush has the below short comments:
  • Pitt- My recruiting coach and I have a good relationship that is why they are still in it.
  • Rutgers - It is my home state school.
  • UNC- The environment is beautiful and it is a good degree.
  • Syracuse - new coaching staff is good. The new offense is good and I would be able to come in as a freshman and start.

Bush will make his decision knew during a 2:45PM press conference at Hackensack High School.
