Harmon Ready To Compete

Duron Harmon, residing from Camden-Wyoming, Delaware, put down some scarlet ink earlier this week. The 6'0 195-lb recruited safety had a poignant message to Rutgers fans: "I'm ready to work hard and win a National Championship."

When Harmon gave his verbal to Rutgers back in June he reached the all-important decision with assistance from his mother. Harmon said "When my mom and I came to visit [Rutgers] we both shared the thought that this is the best place for me to go, my mom is my best friend." Before committing to Rutgers, Duron was leaning towards Pittsburgh as his number one school. Pitt was even more enticing since his uncle is the wide receivers coach. With all that being said Rutgers ran away with the race. "The coaches were a big reason why I chose Rutgers plus the academics and environment."

After being courted by the likes of Pittsburgh, Stanford, Connecticut, Iowa and Maryland Harmon said "I really matured throughout the recruitment period and I can't say I would of done anything differently. The recruiting process is a blessing. I can't wait to get out there for spring ball."
Duron is getting himself ready as well by improving on his strength and speed by hitting the weight room and running. Aside from his on the field prowess of covering ground at the safety position he also plans on deciding between majoring in exercise science and accounting.
