Big Things Come in Big Packages

Football players come in all shapes and sizes. In the case of Martin Ojeda, he would definitely qualify as an extra large. The 6'5 330 pound junior offensive guard from West New York Memorial High School (NJ) definitely has the measurements to be a real difference maker on the football field.

Apparently, Martin Ojeda has the talent as well. Ojeda received 1st Team All-Hudson County [NJ] honors and played "big" against tough competition such as Hoboken and St. Peters Prep.

Ojeda was a major reason why his team accrued more wins in 2008 than they did in the 2 previous seasons combined. His size and athleticism have earned him early attention from Rutgers and Duke University. "I attended Rutgers' Junior day. It was a great experience. They are a great school, have great facilities and great coaches. I get a lot of mail from them as well as Duke University".

Ojeda plans to take additional unofficial visits to both universities. Although he has yet to receive an offer, one is likely to follow. He would like to commit early on in the recruiting process if the right opportunity presents itself.

According to Ojeda, at this early stage, Rutgers is the clear frontrunner for his services. His three biggest factors in his decision-making process are education, coaching and team environment, in that order. He also mentioned location as an important parameter, a distant fourth on his list of priorities. Ojeda plans to spend his off-season going through grueling work outs to prepare for his upcoming senior football season.

We will keep you posted as we track his recruitment.
