Ryan has one goal in mind at RU

Logan Ryan is taking care of business and looking forward to starting his career on the banks, after recently signing his letter of intent to attend Rutgers University. He told SOR that the end of recruiting season was a "huge weight of my shoulders." Now Logan's concentrating on his schoolwork at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, NJ and hitting the weight room.

"I started lifting today. Four times a week, plus speed drills," stated 5-11, 175 lb. defensive back Logan Ryan, who will be keeping busy for the foreseeable future. His 4.45-second 40-yard dash wouldn't appear to need much work, but he's at it anyway. Logan's not neglecting his studies either. Currently maintaining a 3.5 grade point average, he's interested in studying business-related fields such as marketing and finance upon arrival at Rutgers.

Logan's also pretty excited about the contingent of South Jersey players who will be traveling with him up the New Jersey Turnpike this summer.

"I can't wait to play with these guys. I've either seen or played against all of them. Coach Schiano did a great job because these guys are all players," continued Ryan.

His enthusiasm is not limited to South Jersey recruits, however. When asked about the 2009 class, Logan responded, "I love it. I've read in several places that Rutgers did the best job of recruiting its needs in the Big East. We've got the DT's, the DB's and the stud quarterback."

We asked Logan if the fact that his dad, as an RU alum, had any bearing on his eventual choice.

"No, Dad didn't pressure me, it was my choice. But every time we talked about college he always had his Rutgers hat on for some reason!"

What's Logan want to say to the Scarlet Knights' faithful who are eagerly awaiting his arrival?

"Tell them my goal is to be the lock-down corner on a national championship team. And to make sure that when high school kids in South Jersey wear college T-shirts, they wear RUTGERS T-shirts!"
