P'Way Superstar Shot Caller

Malcolm Griggs is the latest in a long line of electrifying Piscataway High School football players. The 6-foot-2 185 pound athletic signal caller is definitely worth the price of admission. This talented junior is just as good with his feet as he is with his arm, if not better. Unfortunately, opposing teams are forced to feel his wrath once again next year when he returns for his senior season.

Although Malcolm projects at either safety or wide receiver at the next level, he is enjoying his current status as a high school superstar quarterback. " I like to get the ball to my guys, play smart, fast, and go 100%,"Malcolm said.

In 2008, Malcolm displayed his versatility by throwing for 1400 yards and 19 touchdowns while running for 500 yards and scoring 5 times on the ground. His terrific performance earned Malcolm 2nd Team All-Group 4, 2nd Team All- Area as well as a selection to the Super 100 All-State Banquet.

Malcolm is a true competitor. When asked about his goals for next season he stated, "I want to come back next year and win more games than we won last year". I wonder if he realizes that it is only humanly possible to win one more game than they won this past season. The Chiefs went 11-1 with their only loss coming at the hands of a highly motivated Sayreville squad who was on a mission that night.

" I am currently being recruited by Rutgers, Ohio State, Oregon, Northwestern, and Boston College. My frontrunner is West Virginia. I just came back from their Jr. Day and had a good time. I like them because their coaching staff shows me the most interest and they have a nice family environment out there," said Malcolm.

As for Rutgers, Griggs stated, " (Rutgers) is one of the best academic schools in the country so Ill definitely have to take a look at them as well. Malcolm's 3 key factors in selecting a final destination are education, a winning program and a strong business school.

Griggs will be attending the Nike, Ohio State, West Virginia and Penn State camps this off-season as well as the 5 Star Academy this Sunday.
