Big Corners Are Hard To Find

At 6'1" 185lbs, junior Cullen Christian still has the speed and athleticism to cover with the best of them. The Penn Hills H.S. (PA) product is a big, swift CB with cover skills. Players like Cullen are a premium in college football being that there aren't too many of them.

Cullen's ability to completely shut down half the field has many college coaches salivating at the prospect of landing the talented young athlete.

" I am a real physical all-purpose corner with good footwork who can run with anyone", said Christian. Christian exhibits the distinct ability to back pedal as well as jam receivers on the line with his size. There is usually a spot for such a talented young athlete on just about any team in the country. Cullen's case is no different. He has the opportunity to become a national recruit.

Cullen is being recruited by a plethora of universities; the most notable being Florida, Alabama, Michigan State, Penn State, Ohio State, Minnesota, UCLA, Michigan, Pitt, Maryland, Central Michigan, West Virginia, Purdue And Illinois. He currently holds offers from Michigan, Pitt, Maryland, Central Michigan, West Virginia, Purdue and Illinois.

"Michigan is currently my leader. They keep in touch with me the most as coaching staff. They make me feel the most needed and I feel they can make me better based on the many successful players they have turned out", Cullen said.

Cullen is also considering Rutgers. "They (Rutgers) send me mail but I haven't heard much from them. I sent them some film. I know Rutgers is a good school and if they come with an offer, I'll take a closer look to see and learn more about them", said Cullen. It sounds like a good opportunity for the Scarlet Knights to get in on the action.

Christian finished his 2008 season with a 2nd Team All- County bid inspired by 35 tackles, 2 interceptions, 4 pass breakups and a forced fumble. According to Cullen, he also sports a 4.4 forty, 40 inch vertical, 250 pound power clean as well as bench press, and squats 315 pounds for 20 reps.
