TE on the Rise

Sean Fitzpatrick is a 6'6 220 pound free safety, quarterback, tight end and punt returner. Or maybe we should just call him "slash". The do-it all standout from Pittsford Mendon H.S. (NY) is an absolute coach's dream. He has the ability to fill in and help out wherever needed although he most likely projects as a TE on the next level.

Sean has a 315 pound bench press, 375 pound squat and 4.56 speed. You would think that a guy with such measurables would have at least 10 offers at this point. Instead, Sean has one offer… Buffalo. Players in the New York state still fight an uphill battle in regards to bias in the many different recruiting circles, but Sean is still managing to make a name for him. Hopefully he as well as players like Andre Civil, Jamal Wilson and Robert Joseph can help change the perception of New York High school football.

"I get a lot of attention from Rutgers, UCONN, Maryland, Boston College, and Pitt. I would like to declare before the season in order to be able to concentrate on the season at hand", said Sean. Buffalo is the clear frontrunner being that they are obviously showing him the most attention at this time. His 3 biggest concerns are academics, coaching staff and facilities.

The Terrapins seems to have picked up the scent as well. " One of the Maryland coaches came down to talk to my coach the other day. They plan to have me come down for an unofficial this Friday", said Sean.

As for Rutgers, Sean stated, "I like them a lot. The coaching staff seems great. I'll be up there for 7-on-7's to get a better feel for them". Will Rutgers increase their interest in the next possible Clark Harris? That remains to be seen.
