Redd visits Virginia, gets Rutgers offer

Silas Redd is slowly becoming a known prospect across the nation. His dad, Silas Redd Sr., briefly talked about his recent trip to Virginia, his Rutgers and Penn State offers, and his trip to Penn State on March 27th.

CT RB Silas Redd, who is currently at a 5'10 192 lbs of hard-rock muscle, went to the Army All-American combine and made a name for himself. Now more schools across the country have become believers. Notre Dame has come in to the school and are considering offering. Texas coach Major Applewhite has also kept in communication and it would not be surprising if the Longhorns recruited this burgeoning star.

A recent trip to Virginia really turned Silas' head. Silas Sr. states "we really liked it down at Virginia. The school was beautiful. They have great academics".

On returning from his trip, in the mailbox was the offer from Penn State and one from Rutgers. "It was nice to finally get the Rutgers offer. I know when he went down there he had a good time and liked the school. But we have not sat down yet and discussed his thoughts on the school going forward".

Silas will be performing in a 7-on-7 camp down on the Rutgers campus later on this month. His training partner Khairi Fortt may participate in the event. However, Silas Sr. is really high on another player on the CT squad. "Keep an eye out for Christian Gill out of Bridgeport. He has been outstanding in our workouts. He has good height and runs really well from the safety spot. I think he is a Division 1 player all the way".

Redd visits Penn State at the end of March. Penn State has been Redd's childhood favorite and he has attended multiple camps at State College. "I know he is looking forward to that trip. We will see how it goes".
