Lewis Adds More offers

Jr. Hybrid TE/WR Jerome Lewis of Rochester, NY is a 6'3 225 lb. athlete who also encompasses the intangibles to become truly affective on the next level. Since arriving in this country from Jamaica 10 years ago, this young man has obviously adapted well and is insistent on making himself a household name.

Obviously, there are a few schools who have taken notice being that he has received 2 new offers, and a total of 4 overall at this point.

"I recently received offers from Minnesota and East Carolina on top of the offers I already had from Pittsburgh and Syracuse", said Jerome Lewis. The young standout's recruitment is clearly beginning to take off. He is currently being recruited by Rutgers, West Virginia, North Carolina, UAB, Boston College, Florida and Virginia Tech.

His collegiate selection will come down to his gut feeling at decision-making time, the schools education reputation and ultimately what his mom thinks. Lewis commented, "I am a child from a single parent home. My mom has always done what's best for me and her opinion will be very important in the recruiting process".

As for RU, he claims, "I really like Rutgers. I already took an official there as well as went there for the 7-on-7. I like the bubble and the school all-around. Coach Schiano took time out to talk to me and I really like his philosophy. He showed me that he cares about his players and that's exactly what players like myself moving onto the next level are looking for".

The Honorable Mention All-Greater Rochester selection has the hunger to excel. "I am an athlete who can make plays wherever you put me on the field. I am very aggressive and will give all I got. I would be disrespecting the guy next to me wearing the same color jersey if I didn't give my best effort", he mentioned.

Jerome displays his versatility by playing defense as well. At linebacker, he accounted for 56 tackles and 7 sacks in 2008. Offensively, he recorded 10 grabs for 348 yards and 1 TD. That equates to an extraordinary mark of 34.8 yards per catch which highlights his big play ability.

Lewis truly has a winning team-first type attitude that has propelled to the top of the recruiting lists of many suitors. His relentless attitude led his team to their first sectional championship in 20 years a couple seasons ago. He has one more season to bring an additional title home to Bishop Kearney.

Jerome was also a standout at the recent badger Scout 7-on- 7 event at Rutgers where he made play after play. In addition, he claims a 4.7 fort yard dash time along with a 4.33 shuttle. SOR will keep you informed on his recruitment.
