Rice Takes Third In Nationals
In another close game Rice beat Rainier Beach 51-49 in Houston's National Academy to take third place in the National Division. Russell Robinson and Shagari Alleyne each scored 21 points. Shag hit 9/11 from the floor and 3/6 from the line. He contributed 3 blocks and owned the lane for Rice. Rainier won the battle of the boards 29/24 but had 10 more turnovers than the New York team. Rice shot poorly from the line going 13/26 while Rainier was 10/13. Overall Shag is third in scoring, third in rebounds and number one in blocks in the National Division. Alleyne has accepted a scholarship to attend Rutgers next year.
