Explosive DT Armoured and Ready

Every once in a while you come across a player with his hand in the ground who truly stands out. At 6'0 275 lbs., Jr. DT Emanuel Riggins of BC High (MA) is that type of player. This run stopping prototypical nose guard type is ready to begin working on his second straight Super Bowl title which is the Massachusetts equivalent of a state title.

"I am a run-stopper although I have the ability to pursue down-filed to make a play. My specialty is plugging up the line and containing the quarterback", said Emanuel.

Emanuel's' skills led his team to an 11-1 championship season in which they avenged their only loss to Everett H.S. (MA) in the playoffs. He stated, "We were the top team in the state until we lost our sixth game to Everett 26-0. At that point, everyone stopped believing except us. We ended up getting a second shot against them in the playoffs and now I'm wearing my ring and my fingers are chilly".

In 2008, the Catholic Conference All-Star contributed 62 tackles, 5 sacks, a forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries. He claims a 330 lb. bench press, 450 lb. squat and a 4.97 forty.

One thing that I found interesting about Riggins is that he has been a professional musician since he was 11 years old. He mentioned, " I specialize on the drums and the keys. I have also been acting since I was 6 and singing since I can remember". Emanuel Riggins can obviously do it all.

This multi-talented young prospect has been shown interest from Rutgers, Boston College, and Connecticut most notably although no one has yet to offer. Riggins ranks academics, athletics and location as his top concerns in regards to committing to a program.

Pertaining to RU, he stated, "I have been researching them. I have heard that have great facilities and I like the school. I would like to take a trip down there to see what they are all about". We will see in the coming months if the staff decides to put the full court press on this young man. SOR will keep you advised.
