Jamaal Jackson: Stat Sheet Stuffer

Jamaal Jackson of Hodgson Vo-Tech (DE) is productive. In 2008, the 5-foot-8 160 lb. scat back and part-time cornerback accounted for 1,577 rushing yards, 20 rushing TD's, 2 receiving TD's, I KR TD, a PR TD, 30 tackles and 3 interceptions. Let's just say; he knows how to play the game of football.

His display of excellence has earned him early offers from, Rutgers, Boston College, Michigan and Louisville.

"I am just looking to go to a college where I fit in schematically. I am also hoping for a fair opportunity to play early as a freshman", said Jamaal Jackson. He definitely shouldn't have a problem fitting in anywhere in the country. He is just that good.

As for his playing style, he stated, "The word I would use to describe it is… different. I don't see too many people doing the things that I do. My best attributes are my vision, breakaway speed and my special moves which I would rather keep a secret".

The 2nd team All-State honoree claims to have performed well at the U.S. Army All- American Combine. He mentioned, "I ran a 4.4 forty, 4.34 shuttle and displayed a 31 ½ inch vertical". Based on these statistics, Jackson is obviously agile, explosive and has tremendous lateral quickness as well.

If the name of his school sounds familiar to you, it is because he plays at the same school as our 2009 signees; the Merrill twins. Jamaal mentioned, "It was great playing with them. They are real good guys. Having them around helped take the load off me being that they were so talented. I know Rutgers will make them great players".

As for Jamaal's interest in Rutgers, he stated, "I like Rutgers because of the good things I have heard as well as the pro-style offense that they run. Plus, being that I know the twins, I'll get to learn a lot about the school". SOR will keep you posted as to the progression of his recruitment.
