Greg Moore Uncovered

For a tailback who ran for 1,693 yards and 18 total touchdowns in 2008, Jr. Greg Moore has remained relatively unknown. The Paterson Catholic (NJ) product is extremely raw but has more athletic ability than most. This upcoming season, he will get his final opportunity to impress collegiate scouts in an effort to secure many well-deserved FBS scholarship offers.

The 5'10 175 pound 3rd Team All- State selection is electric on the football field. He helped lead his team to a 1-loss season and state championship victory over St. Mary's. Greg stated, "We didn't truly come together until after the Glen Rock loss. After that we all woke up and were on a roll from then on. I plan on carrying that momentum into next season to win another state championship. I also hope to break 2,000 yards on the ground".

When asked about his style of play, Greg responded, "I'm a playmaker. I love contact and use my strength to my advantage. The thing I love most about football is that you never know what's gonna happen. It's great when your linemen come together and do what they are supposed to do. That motivates me to go even harder because I would hate to waste a good block".

Obviously, Greg rarely wasted a good block on his most recent mission towards 2,000 yards. Another thing he neglected to waste was the opportunity to make plays defensively as well. From his safety/ outside linebacker post he repeatedly made big plays to secure much needed victories. His statistics of 58 tackles and 1 interception are amongst the best on the team.

Greg is currently being recruited by Rutgers, Maryland, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Syracuse amongst a few others, although he has yet to be offered. He would like to attend a school with a good architecture as well as business program. Greg claims a 3.6 GPA that should definitely enable him the desired academic success that he seeks.

As for his Rutgers interest he stated, "I really don't know much about the program but my coach is always giving us bits and pieces about it. It sounds really good. I'm not sure about what I want to do yet, but at the moment, I feel like I need to get away and see what else the world has to offer… but we'll see how I feel next February". SOR will keep you posted.
