Another Dematha Lineman with RU Offer

Jr. Shane Johnson is a 6'5, 290 lb. athletic lineman for his Dematha Football squad. He represents a devastating offensive line which makes it a no-brainer to run the football most of the time. The combination of Johnson along with the Kouandjio brothers is a lethal one. SOR was able to catch up with Shane to discuss a multitude of topics including his Rutgers offer.

"Last season, The smallest guy on our offensive line was 6'4 250 lbs. We dominated teams on the ground en route to a 10-2 record and 6th strait championship. I started out the season at tackle and then was moved to guard because of my ability to pull. I really love to pull because you get a head start that enables you to completely destroy someone", said Shane Johnson.

"I am a hard worker and I never stop improving. I really love being a lineman because it's a thinking position. If you don't know what you are doing then you are just taking up space", he continued.

When asked what makes him unique, he responded. I am into super heros. "My favorite one is the Incredible Hulk. I like to collect them".

Shane currently holds 6 offers from Rutgers, Duke, New Mexico, Wake Forrest, Boston College and Towson. He is looking to attend an institution with great academics, a personable offensive line coach, and a place where he will end up graduating a good, productive human being. Johnson claims no favorites at this time.

In regards to his Rutgers interest, he remarked, "Rutgers is a great school and excellent program. I took a visit up there for a spring practice and enjoyed it. I thought the artificial crowd noise was cool. The campus was really, really big. I spent the whole day with them. I got called up to the head coach's office after practice and he offered me. I was definitely happy about that."

Shane's main goal for the upcoming season is to help lead his team to their 7th strait state championship in 2009. SOR will stay close to the situation.
