Connecting with Anthony Alosi

The Big Time Showcase brought out the best talent from the state of New Jersey and beyond. One of the players who excelled at the Showcase was Anthony Alosi who showed out during 1-on-1's even after pulling his hamstring while running the 40-yard dash. Anthony displayed the tenacity as well as the technique to show why he is gaining interest amongst multiple collegiate coaches around the country.

Although he has yet to claim any FBS offers, they are definitely sure to come.

"I won all of my 1-on-1's except for 1 in which the offensive lineman just rode me out. The defense was definitely ahead of the offense that day. I feel like we won most of the 1-on-1 battles", said Anthony. Anthony measured in at 6'5 ½ and 256lbs at the showcase.

He continued, "Monmouth offered me the opportunity to play there. That's it so far as far as anything official, but Rutgers, Connecticut and Maryland have been heavily recruiting me as of late. Virginia, Cincinnati, Penn State and Vanderbilt are amongst the new big time programs also recruiting me. They all seem to have a good amount of interest. As of right now, my two favorites are Rutgers and Virginia though."

As for Rutgers, he stated "I like the campus as well as the coaching staff. I have been there a couple times and it always feels welcoming like people really want me to be a part of it". When asked about how he would react to a Rutgers offer, he mentioned, "I would feel great about it. They definitely would be one of my final choices".

In regards to next season, Alosi's goals are to be named team captain and lead his team to a successful season. His personal goals are to attain at least 60 tackles and 10 sacks from the defensive tackle and end positions. "We run a 5-2 so I end up playing either the 4 or 6 shade. I feel that I will be in the position to make a lot of plays this upcoming year", he said.

Only time will tell what the future holds, but Anthony Alosi is doing everything in his power to assure that next year is a great one. "I'm lifting with the team 3 days a week and working out at Velosity with my personal trainer another 3 days a week. We mainly work on speed training and conditioning", Alosi said. SOR will keep you involved in Anthony's recruitment.
