Thomas Locks the Secondary Down

Jr. athlete Jordan Thomas of Union Endicott (NY) is a 6'1 190lb versatile threat on the gridiron. He can do anything from catching the football and gaining yards on the ground to locking down receivers defensively and returning kicks. This talented young man has a Rutgers offer as well as offers from an additional seven schools. SOR caught up with Jordan to discuss his recruitment

"I have received offers from Rutgers, Buffalo, Maryland, Cincinnati, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, North Carolina and Oregon State. Lately Miami, Boston College and Illinois have gotten into the mix too. They have all come to visit me. Most of the schools are recruiting me as a DB although I would rather play receiver. Oregon St. is recruiting me as a receiver though and Rutgers said they would at least give me a chance on that side of the ball." said Jordan Thomas.

He continued, "I like the competition of the game. I wanna go somewhere I can evolve and learn new things. The atmosphere is also important".

When asked if he has any favorites at this time, he mentioned "I like all of the schools at this time. Honestly I would like to play away from home but I'm not just gonna select a school because it's far".

As for Rutgers, Jordan stated, "I love that school. They are really, really good. I've been up there a couple times and I like the coaches. Ed Pinkham is recruiting me. He seems like a real nice guy. He's down to earth, tells it like it is and has a good heart."

Jordan put together a season containing approximately 1500 yards and 12 TD's worth of overall offensive production. Defensively, he ranked second on the team in tackles and led the way with 5 picks. Thomas runs track in the off-season where his personal bests are a 10.4 in the 100m and a 21.5 in the 200m. SOR will keep you posted.
