PISCATAWAY -- With the Big East opener three days away, Rutgers men's basketball coach Gary Waters spent some time yesterday talking about changes he has in store as well as assessing the program's immediate past and future.
The alterations may include a new starting lineup, a revamped half-court offense and increased minutes for a couple of freshmen.
ROBBINSVILLE - More than 15 months after a Superior Court judge declared basketball stars Darryl Watkins and Collin Bailey eligible to play for Paterson Catholic, the New Jersey Court of Appeals has set Wednesday as the day to hear the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association's appeal to overturn the Superior Court's decision.

Darryl Watkins of Paterson Catholic, one of the state's top basketball players, could have his senior season cut short if the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association proves its point in court next week. A hearing scheduled for Wednesday in Hackensack will give the NJSIAA an opportunity to overturn a court ruling that allowed Watkins to play this season.
