Jeff Starr Jr. : Breakin' Out

There is another offensive lineman on the rise. Jeffrey Starr Jr. is a 6'3 ½ 305lb prospect fro Brien Mcmahon H.S. (CT). This talented young player is looking to boost his recruitment by continuing on his mission attending almost every either camp or combine possible.

At this point he has no offers, but he definitely plans to attain a few based on hard work and determination.

"I do what needs to get done. If I need to go to camps, Ill do it. If I have to make a block, I'll make it. I give my all and leave my heart on the field. I am big and mean on the field but outside of it, I am the nicest guy that you will ever meet. I'm all about the game." said Jeffrey Starr Jr.

Starr has received this team's top lineman award for two consecutive years along with 2nd Team All SCIAC honors as well. Jeff described what he likes to do best on the football field; "I like run blocking the most because you have to get down and dirty and it's a lot more physical."

Starr is also a top tier wrestler who recorded a 33-2 record last season as a Jr. "I won the SCIACs and finished 4th in states which was a bummer. Going into next year, I am ranked 1st in the state and 14th in the country n the heavyweight division. So hopefully ill take it on home. I used to play lacrosse too but it has become a little man's game so I switched it for track where I throw the shot out (38') and the discuss (95 ft.)".

Jeff attended the BigTime Showcase where we first became award of him. He stated, "It was a great time. It was good to see the other competition and guys like me competing to play for big schools. It was a good opportunity for me to show coaches my skills and what Norwalk, Connecticut is all about."

So far, Jeff has no offers, but does mention a good amount of interest from Boston College, Connecticut and Iowa.

As for Rutgers, he admitted, "I get a letter every now and then but not much. I would like to look more into Rutgers. Hopefully, I will get a chance to attend their camp this summer and see what they have to offer."

Jeff continued, "I also plan to camp at BC, Iowa, Uconn, the Blue Chip Academy, Stony Brook, Hofstra and Marist. I already attended the Temple camp. I ran a 5.2 forty there. They are showing me interest as well."

In regards to what Jeff likes about football, he said, "I like that it's a team sport and if you don't play your part, your team is lost. I like that you have to work with one another to succeed." SOR will continue to track his recruitment.
