Jordan Thomas commits to RU

Jordan Thomas of Union Endicott (NY) was a standout amongst the plethora of talent at Rutgers camp these past few days. Thomas displayed his immense ability on the offensive side of the ball and proved to the staff that he is versatile enough to compete at more than one position. SOR caught up with Jordan to discuss his commitment.

"I called coach Schiano on the phone and told him I wanted to commit. All the coaches were cheering. It just feels like home. My high school preaches about family and Rutgers preaches about the same things whether it be on or off the field. I just feel like it's the right fit." said Jordan Thomas.

He continued, "Camp was excellent. I got to prove that I am good on the offensive side of the ball. It went real well. I just played my game and proved that i can play WR. I'm just happy that I got to show what I can do. That's all".

Jordan also spoke about the campus and coaches. "I love the campus. It was just a matter of me seeing the coaches and how they were with the players in practice situations. That was the big emphasis. I already knew I liked Rutgers but I just wanted to see how it was in coaching situations."

He also seems to have taken to his recruiting coach. "Coach Frasier really grew on me. He's like my uncle. I love the guy. He a good guy that tells it like it is and you need that in this business."

Jordan mentioned another incoming player that he has gotten to know. "I met J.T. Tartacoff for the second time. I can't wait to play with him. He's a good kid and a stud on the football field. I learned a lot from him in camp about the position".

As for his message to the State of Rutgers, he mentioned, "I just want to be the best player I can be... and the best receiver in the nation. That's my goal. Here I come".
