Rice and St Pats Lose
St Rays Ravens staked a claim to being the best team in the city last night as the Ravens beat Rice 68-62.The Ravens had previously beaten the best of the PSAL, Lincoln High, in a near blowout. Rutgers recruit Shagari Alleyne scored 26, grabbed 10 rebounds and swatted away 8 shots but it wasn't enough to beat St Rays and their balanced attack in the Bronx. Rice slipped to 10-4. The biggest news of the evening was reported by the New York Pos's' guy on the spot Dan Martin when he said that Shagari reaffirmed that he is firmly committed to Rutgers. In another major game Burlington Life came into the Dunn and beat St Pats by 7. Burlington has two major Division I seniors that have not signed on with a college.
