Kenny Shaw Recruiting Update

3-Star WR Kenny Shaw of Dr. Phillips HS (FL) has accumulated 26 offers of which Georgia, Northwestern and Ohio St. are the latest. Shaw is known for his legit 4.4 forty speed, 7.1 L Cone and 3.9 short shuttle times. His ability to create separation with precise route running has gained him attention from Rutgers University as well.

Let's take a look and find out a little bit about him and also which Universities are in consideration for his services.

"I just got back from the Gridiron King 7-on-7 which they select the top 64 skill players in the nation. I ended up in the Hot 11 after the first day so things are really taking off. My ability comes from working hard on routes and going against good DBs all the time" said Kenny Shaw.

Shaw caught 64 balls last season for 914 yards and 10 TDs. His main goal for the upcoming season is for his off-season success to translate into a state championship.

The 1st Team All-Central Florida selection claims to be recruited the hardest by Florida St., Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Ohio, Georgia, Ohio St. and Michigan. Although these are the schools recruiting him the hardest, this is not necessarily his top list of schools although he does claim a high interest level in Florida St.

As for Rutgers, he mentioned, "I like Rutgers. They throw the ball a lot. They came down to see me daily during the spring so that showed me that they really want me. I speak with Coach Pinkham a lot. He is real nice. They want me to get in that offense and keep it up like Kenny Britt and that other receiver (Underwood) did. Rutgers definitely will get consideration".

When asked about his dialogue with Coach Schiano, he mentioned, "He just told me that I would be a great fit for his offense and I should get up there for a visit. I might do that. He told me that they get a lot of TV time and they are close to the ESPN Zone and stuff like that."

Kenny is currently keeping his options open although he plans to cut down his list early august. He stated, "Whether a school is close or far from home doesn't matter to me. I just won't go out west."

Shaw is looking to go to a school where he can have a good relationship with the coaches, a place where they throw the ball a lot, and also a place with a god atmosphere. Stay tuned.
