New Jersey Based Tim Thomas Playaz Basketball Club (PBC) will host the First Annual Freedom Fighters Hoop Challenge. This tournament will take place on Monday, January 20, 2003, Dr. Martin Luther King' Day. All of the proceeds from this event go to Paterson's Fredrick H. La Garde Sr. Academy. The co-recipient this year is James "Flea" Watson. James has been in a coma since a near fatal accident on August 19, 2001. He was about to leave for Clark Atlanta college when the accident happened.
The schedule of game is: 4:00 PM, the Paterson Eastside HS (Girls) play Christ the King HS of Middle Village, NY. Christ the King is once again ranked considered the number Girls High School team in America.
The men start att 5:45 PM. Ramsey, New Jersey powerhouse, Don Bosco Prep HS gets it on with Bloomfield Tech. Sophomore standout insider, Tyrell Biggs, and his team mates take on the talented back court junior combination of point guard Courtney Nelson and shooterDeShawn Dwight. At 7:30 Paterson Catholic HS takes on Sebastian and his boys from Brooklyn's Lincoln High. Catholic feature two of the better seniors in New Jersey America in 6-4 Rutgers bound Marquis Webb and Mookie Watkins. .

Also, Note that the Court Club meeting Tuesday will be at the RU Student Center on the main campus not the Busch center as oringinally listed. McGreevey will be at Busch that night. Dinner starts at 6:45 the meeting at 7:30. Guest is mike Dabney.
