Wynn Commits to Rutgers

WR Jawaun Wynn is a player who's recruitment has absolutely exploded over the past couple months. This athletic specimen and workout warrior impressed Rutgers during his one day at camp where at 6'3 ½ 195 lbs, he ran a 4.48 forty, a 1.8 Delta (which is really fast), dominated 1-on-1's and showed tremendous skills during WR drills.

Wynn's brief recruitment culminated about an hour ago when he committed to the Scarlet Knights.

"I called Coach Schiano and told him I wanted to commit. He was real excited and I could hear all of the other coaches clapping in the background. It was a great moment." said Jawaun Wynn.

It was only a few months ago when I spoke to an offer-less Wynn who was competing for the attention of college coaches. To that he mentioned, "This is a real blessing. I thank God. This is real special."

He continued, "The first time I really had contact with Rutgers was at my track practice. Coach Susan stopped by and told the coaches that they wanted to see me in camp. After my performance at camp and my offer, we started to talk a lot more and he would take me around campus when I was there and introduce me to all the players. What made me commit is that I felt real comfortable around the coaches and connected with everyone. Every time I went there, I learned a lot of different things. Coach Schiano is a real cool guy too… and he was what finally sold me."

When asked how Rutgers plans to use him, he stated, "…as a pure wide receiver. They want to use me as the "x" receiver to create mismatches around the field and as a burner-speed type. They need me to spread the field. My best attributes are my speed and height. I think I am still growing too. The funny thing is that my dad is only 6'1 but I have an uncle who is my height."

Wynn is also a smart young man who sports an overall 3.5 GPA with a 3.2 core. "I would like to graduate early and get there definitely by the spring in hopes of playing early. My grades might allow me to do that" he said.

As for his message to the State of Rutgers, he stated, "I spoke to Coach Schiano about it and our goal is to win a National Championship and win a Big East title. I wanna be the best receiver that I can be to get to the next level. Get ready because I'm coming. I'm excited to be a Scarlet Knight". Stay Tuned.
