WR Martize Barr Update

A couple weeks ago, SOR brought you an update on Martize Barr, who according to him is being recruited by Kansas, Rutgers and New Mexico. He has been preparing for a tough up-coming season and is working on improving upon the 9-3 record accomplished last season. SOR caught up with him to discuss his most recent developments.

We had recently reported that Martize Barr was down to a tie between Kansas and Rutgers, as far as which school he hopes to attend. Things seem to have changed a bit. When asked who is absolute favorite is at this time, he responded, "Rutgers".

When asked of his reasoning, he stated, "I just really like the coaches and the way the program is going. I would like to help put my stamp on their development and help turn them into a powerhouse… and I love the pro-style offense because I feel it will help me get ready for the next level."

He continued, "They (the staff) want to have me down for a visit. They would like to know which game I wanna come down for. I can't wait to get out there because their games are always exciting."

Barr is a tough, compact, sure-handed receiver who could possibly be used to propel Rutgers' production from either the slot or the backfield. He has big-play ability and routinely turns negative plays into large gains. SOR will keep you informed as the story develops.
