Ifill Talks recruitment

Brandon Ifill still maintains his Top 5 of Maryland, Rutgers, Michigan, West Virginia, and Pittsburgh. The 6'0 185 lb. safety/receiver revealed his reasoning as to why these specific schools have made it thus far in his selection process. Take a look and find out about Brandon's up-coming season and the current details of his recruitment.

"Right now, I'm just focusing on the season and taking it one day at a time. We have our first game of the season this Friday against Gateway HS (PA). We are looking pretty good. We have a couple new guys starting this year. We are ranked #1 in the state by a few people but we don't pay any attention to that. We are just ready to go out and play the game. It's our last year playing high school football and we wanna go out the right way" said Brandon Ifill.

Brandon seems to have come to a bit of a halt with his recruitment to focus on the season. "Everything is pretty much the same. I'm still keeping my options open. I'm concentrating on my top 5 though which are Maryland, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Rutgers and Michigan."

He further broke down the reasons why he is attracted to these 5 particular schools:

Maryland- "I probably like them the most all around. The coaches, the academics, the facilities, and the way they do things. I'm taking a visit up to Maryland on September the 26th when they play Rutgers. I think Maryland might win. I'm not sure. I know it will be a great game. Maryland has a lot of fire power on offense and their defense is underrated."

Pittsburgh- "Its home. It pretty much just has that home feeling. I like coaches a lot too."

West Virginia- "I like their family atmosphere. They are very family oriented. I like how discipline they are in everything they do."

Michigan- "I like the things they can do with the coaching staff right now. They seem very easy to play for and have good academics."

Rutgers- "I like the staff a whole lot. They are very approachable and personal. I like the facilities, the academics, and the university feeling. I spoke to Coach Smith just yesterday. We talked about football and how I'm doing. He was basically just catching up with me to see where I lay with them and when the next time is that I'll be able to get up there. I'm not sure when that will be right now, maybe after the season is over. Also, Coach Schiano is a great guy. He's intense, family oriented, and a very good coach."

Brandon intends on making a commitment after the season concludes.

In regards to how he has been preparing this off-season, he stated, "I've been trying to work on all aspects of my game; my strength mostly though. I wanna stay where I'm at with my speed (4.4). I wanna get better in all areas."

As for what Brandon seeks on the next level, he said, "I'm looking for a place that I can be comfortable going to school and playing football there. I need to be comfortable with staff and play as much as I can. Right now, I think I'm better at receiver than defense because I have been playing it longer but I think I have a lot of potential on defense that's why I'm not sure what I wanna play on the next level". SOR will keep you posted.
