Benedicts over Blair by 7

Yesterday in Newark after trailing by 1 at the half, an inspired St Benedicts team came out of the locker room in the second half and broke open the game with a 29-14 third quarter. Blair came back in the fourth to out score the Newarkers by 7 but it was too little too late. Credit Coach Danny Hurley and the full court press to take the Blair squad out of their game plan. Prep was led by Junior forwards Stan Branch with 16 and Alex Gallindo with 18 while senior guard Art Bowers knoked down 20. Tomorrow Benedicts will match up with St Pats at the Tom Dunn Center. Junior JR Smith was held to 9 points. Rutgers has been following his progress, as well as, that of Stan Branch and has had assistants at several Prep games.
