Florida DB looking at Rutgers, others

Rutgers coach Greg Schiano and his staff were out recruiting this weekend, and one of the prospects Schiano saw was a Florida three-star safety who has an offer from Rutgers. The player has a few handfuls of offers, but said he is hearing the most from Rutgers and Miami. ScarletReport.com caught up with him to get an update on his recruiting, and what he thinks of Rutgers.

As much as St. Thomas Aquinas of Fort Lauderdale safety Brian Robinson wanted to say the showdown-win against Byrnes of Duncan, S.C., was just another game, he acknowledged the difference in the matchup of the top two ranked high school teams in the nation.

With Rutgers coach Greg Schiano in attendance, Robinson had an impressive first half as St. Thomas retained its No. 1 ranking with a 42-34 win. Robinson was injured in the game, and didn't want to talk about that, but he did address others things, particularly his recruitment.

"To me, it was just another game,'' Anderson said. "I did (notice the atmosphere), but I still kind of looked at it as a normal game. It kind of gave me a little experience of (a) college (atmosphere).''

Where that college experience will be remains a mystery, but Rutgers is certainly in the mix. In fact, Robinson said Rutgers and Miami are the two schools he is hearing from the most, but he's not ready to start cutting things down.

"I really don't have a list of favorites,'' said Robinson, a 6-foot-0, 185-pound safety. "After the season I will set up visits.''

Robinson has an offer from Rutgers, and also mentioned West Virginia, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Miami as schools he is looking at.

He attended Rutgers' camp in the summer and said he got a good vibe from it.

"I liked it,'' Robinson said. "They were pretty honest with me. And they made me comfortable.''
