The Sixth Man
Usually when you speak of a sixth man in basketball it's the fans well so was the case at Rutgers last night as RAC MAGIC returned. Down in Washington, there was a different type of sixth man; it was a person. With 6.4 second left in a 72-72 game between SHU and Georgetwon, SHU had an out of bounds play at their offensive end. Damon Fray broke free for a jam. Who was guarding him? No one. Why? SHU used a trick play the old 6 on 5. NBC ran the clip directly after the game and counted out the players for SHU. With three refs on the court not one of them could count to six. Remember Penn State vs. Nebraska in football, well, last night in Washington it was basketball.
