After returning from his visit to Rutgers over the weekend, Waithe said he continues to contemplate the best fit for him.
"I'm going back and forth right now,'' Waithe said Wednesday night. "I'm not sure. I think I'll have a decision Friday.''
Waithe, who played Sir Wilfrid Laurier (Scarborough, Ont) averaged 18.9 points and 8.6 rebounds in his first season at Tallahassee Community College. He committed to Rutgers while in high school, but did not qualify academically.
"He's a very talented all around player,'' Tallahassee coach Eddie Barnes said. "I think wherever he goes, he can have an impact. He certainly can shoot the ball, and he does a lot of other things well also.''
Friday could be an interesting day for the Scarlet Knights.
Not only are they in the mix for the 6-foot-9 Waithe, who will play wing and power forward in college, but Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.) guard Austin Carroll said he would decide between Harvard and Rutgers by the end of the week.
