"I'm very interested,'' Pinnock said, "but there are other schools that I like, too.''
An official visit to Marshall is set for Nov. 24, and Pinnock said he is in the process of scheduling a trip to Arizona State. He added he is also getting inquiries from Florida State and Georgia Tech.
"Arizona State is working on an offer for me right now,'' Pinnock said. "I haven't gotten any offers yet. The (offensive line) coach up there says he likes me. He likes the whole offensive line at our school.''
Although Pinnock's interest in some schools may seem haphazard, there is an inbred reason why he is interested in Rutgers.
A job transfer for his mom six years ago sent Pinnock from New York to south Florida. He contemplated returning to his Brooklyn home for his senior season so he could play in front of more family members, but ultimately the quality of prep football in Florida was a decisive factor.
"I'd say (the schools) are all pretty even,'' Pinnock said. "When I was younger, I liked Georgia, by now I like Georgia Tech.''
It is no surprise why Pinnock likes the Yellowjackets. As an offensive lineman he loves an offense that runs the football, and Georgia Tech does it better than almost anyone in the nation thanks to its option attack.
"It shows I can overpower somebody, so that's why I like running the ball,'' Pinnock said. "It sends message to other person that they are being beaten.''
