PC Loses to Blair
The stands at the Dunn Center in Elizabeth were crowded with familiar faces including several college coaches. Our man on the spot wrote that Rutgers Head Coach Gary Waters, Lou Orr, Villanova assistant Fred Hill and North Carolina assistant Fred Quartlebaum were there as was former Giants quarterback, Phil Simms. Blair beat Paterson Catholic 67-53. Webb started out great but once Mookie Watkins got into early foul trouble Blair keyed on Marquis. Marquis was forced down low to help combat the taller Blair team. He played defense with tenacity and heart. Watkins led PC with 17 points but was limited to 2 rebounds while Marquis scored 11. The combo of Luol Deng and Charlie Villaneueva contributed 40 points for Blair.
