Is RU still after Foose?

Paramus Catholic (Paramus, N.J.) offensive lineman Danny Foose is hoping to make a decision on is college choice before the Christmas break, and he talks about setting up a few visits. Where does Rutgers stand in the matter? The Scarlet Knights already have a number of offensive line commitments, so is there room for the 6-foot-6, 315-pound Foose? ScarletReport.com has the answer.

Paramus Catholic (N.J.) offensive lineman Danny Foose is hopeful of deciding on a college before the Christmas break, and unless a new school shows up on the radar quickly, his decision will be made from Illinois, Central Florida and Boston College.

"I may be visiting UCF the weekend of Dec. 12,'' said Foose, a projected offensive tackle. "I am trying to get to Boston College the following week.''

Foose, who is 6-foot-6, 315 pounds, already visited Illinois (Oct. 3) during the season, and recently dropped Stanford from consideration because of the distance of the Northern California campus from his New Jersey home.

As for the closest school, it doesn't appear Foose will be heading there, either.

ScarletReport.com has learned Rutgers is no longer recruiting him because the Scarlet Knights filled up their scholarship allotment for his position.

The predicament is common in recruiting, where programs often fill scholarship slots and have to rule out players they were previously recruiting for an extended period of time.

The news of Rutgers no longer being involved with Foose leaves Illinois, Central Florida and Boston College in the mix.

"I pretty much should be able to make a decision,'' Foose said. "If I can get the (visits) done, that would be awesome. See these (schools) and get a good feel for them and then make a decision.''
