St Pats Beats Rice
Down by 21 in the third quarter to St. Pats of Elizabeth, Rice High School of NYC staged a wild come back but ended uplosing 62-60. Mike Nardi keyed the second quarter run that led to the big lead for the Celts. The Celts defense just took Rice out of the game for almost two quarters. They out rebounded and out hustled the New Yorkers. Rice just stood around and let the Celts dictate the game at both ends of the court. Shagari Alleyne who came into the game averaging almost 20 points only took four shots and scored 3 points. Russell Robinson, the best shooter on the Rice team, also was absent during the long drought. Rice just didn't play their game today until the final 8 minutes. Even though it was a valiant comeback, it was just too little too late.
