The Peddie school is located in Hightstown, New Jersey, just outside Fort Dix and it's boys varsity basketball team is sitting just outside the top 20 preps nationally in the top 25 range. Led the Head Coach Chris Potash the Falcons have been a resilient team all year long. Fifth year Union County natives, Ibrahim Jaaber and Jaamal Hillard, are the ring leaders on the court.
Jaaber played for Group IV power Elizabeth High School while Hillard played for Roselle Catholic. Jaaber is a scoring point that can hit from three or off the dribble in any variety of acrobatic moves. He went for 30 against Blair and 28 against Hun. Don't try and run with this guy because he is really quick off the dribble. The Trenton Times called him the best player " to take up residence in Mercer County since Dahntay Jones."
Ibrahim has offers from the entire Ivy League and may find his final port of call at Penn or Princeton. His play this year has brought in several mid-majors and he has even garnered more than a passing interest from some higher Division I coaches. I would not be shocked if he ends up in the Atlantic 10 or an even higher league.
Jaamal is the number two go to guy and is no slouch ; he can also score and defend. He has been monitored by several mid-majors. The other two main contributors on the squad are Myron Rolle and Josh Wearing.
Peddie plays a competitive schedule in the Mid Atlantic Private School League. They've played Top 20 Preps Blair, Lawrenceville and Hun in league and have even ventured up to Neptune where they've beaten Monmouth Regional, Lakewood and Neptune at the Neptune Holiday Classic.
