Cedric Jackson, PG, 6-2, 185, Northern Burlington High School
One of the top juniors in the State of New Jersey. I got a chance to speak to Cedric's dad about Cedric, his interests and his play this year.
Schools recruiting him
Rutgers, Connecticut, Syracuse, Tennessee, Louisville, Princeton, Wyoming, Penn, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Florida State, Maryland, George Mason, Iowa State, Stanford, Gonzaga, Michigan, Seton Hall, Villanova, West Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Richmond, St Joseph's, LSU and Cincinnati
"He wide open, he likes a number of schools but he is wide open right now."
"He likes Rutgers. They have a good tradition. He has been to several of their games. He has had an opportunity to see their campus and he liked it."
On Cedric's play:
"His coach calls him 'The entertainer'. The coach gave him that nickname since the crowds at the games are much bigger this year. He is like a Jason Kidd type player. He can shoot and rebound. He is more of a one guard at this point. He is very competitive and has a great desire to win, it is a type of intensity a lot higher than a lot of kids I have seen. On the court he is well rounded, he can penetrate, shoot the ball and dish it off. He can rebound it well also."
On his official visits:
"We are going to sit down and talk to his coach about officials."
On his coachability:
"He is very coachable, he plays within the system. In a game against Hightstown he scored 22 points in the first half but the coach wanted him to distribute the ball more in the second half. That was just what he did and they went on to win."
Last Season Honors

He received the Most Outstanding Player of the game at the Prime Time Shootout against Trenton Central High School after scoring 35 points, recognized as Varsity South Jersey Scholastic Sports player of the week (15 Feb 03) in the Courier Post."
